Just a few more photos from the weekend. ( pics )
So we took a long weekend down to the Oregon Coast (Newport to be exact). Pics under the cut. Also, I made my icon on the beach today. Cool, eh?
This is a plea to any/all friends with an ounce of photoshop skillz, as I have zero. I need a banner for my upcoming fic. I have a vague idea of what I want (well okay, I know one image that I would like in it, but the rest is up to you if you so choose to help me out). I will love you forever, and send many, many virtual cookies, hugs, margaritas your way. Send me a pm (or comment) and we can figure it out.
*grumble*i need to figure out how to do more than just open photoshop*grumble, grumble*
Got some good cleaning done today and took a huge bag of clothes and TWO *gasp* pairs of shoes to the clothes bank today. Took the pup along with me (she loves to do errands, and the local drive-thru coffee stop gives her a glass of water - which she loves and prefers over their way-to-hard treats that they usually hand out). After doing the important things: clothes bank, coffee, post office, etc... we stopped at the wetlands for a little fresh air. I had my camera with me (duh) and snapped a few shots. It was a pretty gray/cloudy day, but there were a few breaks between the clouds, and I managed to capture it on the smooth surface of the water.
When it rains, it pours.
I feel so bad for my grandma. She called a bit ago to let us know that her cousin passed away. I guess he was her favorite and looked after her when they played around on the farm. I know there is no 'easy' or 'right' time to have someone die, but the wounds from my grandpa's death are still so fresh that... well, there certainly couldn't be any ~worse~ time, that's for sure.
I guess his two brothers are out hunting and no one can get a hold of them. When they left they had jokingly said if anything happened to anyone, to put them on ice and wait until they got back. Now their brother dies and he's literally on ice until they get back. It will certainly be an unwelcome surprise.
Anyway, any and all positive thoughts sent my grandma's way are most appreciated. I know she needs to grieve, but a little extra positive energy her way can't hurt.
Ha!
So last night I was chatting with Cassy and she was explaining to me the love that is Tara and Willow from Buffy. Now, I've never seen the show (and have thought about watching someday, but would prefer someone to watch with.... but this is off topic) but I'm curious as to what others see in various fandoms and learn about other ships. So anyway, by the time I finally logged off to go to bed (at 1:30am) I thought I had a grasp of the basic relationship of the various char. on the show, but then... not so much. Anyway. Last night. I end up having some mega-complicated dream about Tara and Willow and having some test about what seasons they were together and what happened to them in the show, and... yeah. It was difficult. Thanks a lot, Cassy. =P
Then I woke up to the sound of a huuuuuge downpour - fell asleep - and had a dream about Fornell (I've been thinking about him a lot because of my own fic). He had to arrest me for something, but I was able to talk my way out of it... I don't remember why.
Oh silly dreams, you never cease to amuse me.
Edit:// Cassy spent roughly three hours explaining the various characters and the relationships between them (pictures included). I now have a somewhat coherent understanding of the show, it's characters and Tara/Willow, I think. No tests/quizzes, please. Thanks again. :)
A family friend is going through chemo and isn't allowed to drive for a few days due to the anti-nausea medicine which can make her a bit dizzy at times. So I offered to take her to Cougar Mountain Zoo today to check on the Tiger Cubs (she has a membership and tries to go weekly since they arrived earlier this year.
They don't have a lot of animals, but it was certainly fun. I've lj-cut some photos ( here. )
This is where Gibbs lives (it will be shown in the ep Outlaws and Inlaws, including one of my favs, Mike Franks, woo!)
He has a fire place... I envision lots and lots of Gibbs/Abby cuddles by a roaring fire. *nod*
