Hi. How are you? I think....
Lots going on.
Skipping over ninetyeight percent of it to say that i had an interesting night babysitting some Russian kids. So there wasn't a whole lot of English being spoken. At all. The mom was there when I arrived (this was my first time meeting them) and spoke very little English and then the dad arrived home and he spoke a little more, but... So it turns out, the dad was home the whole evening but too busy to watch the kids. The kids (1.5 years old, 2 years, 8 months old) were absolutely adorable, especially the older one. So yeah, the whole night was just a little weird - like how do you say 'no, keep your fingers out of the electrical sockets, you'll fry if you don't' in Russian? But considering I don't have a full-time nanny gig yet, I'll take all the babysitting hours I can get.
It's just hard when you can't communicate very well. I can do Danish/Swedish/Norwegian. I can fake my way through German, but I haven't learned Russian, and it isn't high on my list. Oh well.
Also, my mom and I made an event out of going to InSpa for facials and then out for dinner and to see 'The Men Who Stare at Goats'. It was funny, but a little 'wtf?' too. We planned to get mani's/pedi's but didn't have time, so those are scheduled for Tuesday. Always fun.
Anyway, I'm still jobless. Anyone have a kick-ass, high-paying job for me that will insure that have the funds for my 'epic road trip of win' next summer? Because I would appreciate it. KTHXBYE
